This piece expresses the will of any living creature to survive and to safeguard its own future. The dragon is a symbol of the life force itself, as well as the guardian of great treasures. And what greater treasure could there be than one’s offspring (her egg) to perpetuate the species? The outer ferocity of this mother in protecting the last remnant of her species is in perfect balance (yin-yang) with her inner will to nurture and love.
